Installing on macOS

  1. Open Self Service
  2. Select the Printers category
  3. Click CAS - Print - GAB424LP
  4. Click Install
  5. Wait for install to complete
  6. Close Self Service

If you're trying to install the gab309alp printer instead, you will first need to install the latest PS PPD driver (3.0 or higher) from the Konica Minolta support site, before trying to add the printer manually. The model you want is the bizhub C550i. In the steps below, you only want to go as far as Step 8, and you DO NOT want to enable User Authentication after you enable Account Track in steps 5 & 6. If you do accidentally enable User Authentication, the system will not let you disable it afterward, and so you will need to remove the printer entirely (under System Preferences) and re-add it from scratch.

Setup Print Code and Authentication

Printing to these devices is restricted to authorized users only. If you do not have a code, please contact the Math department for access.

  1. Open a printable document (you dont have to print it, but we will save your authentication information)
  2. Go to File > Print
  3. Click Show Details
  4. Select Output Method from the dropdown where your application name is currently shown, in this case TextEdit. (Other applications may look slightly different)
  5. Click the box next to Account Track

    1. Department Name - leave blank
    2. Password - enter your 4 digit print passcode
    3. Click the box next to Save Settings (optional)

    1. Click Save Current Settings as Preset...

    4. Click OK
    5. NOTE: If you save this preset, the next time you need to print to these printers, you can just select this preset from the list of presets instead of entering your information every time.
  8. Click Print
  9. An Authentication Window will appear
    1. Document ID - your EUID
    2. Password - your 4 digit print passcode
    3. Click the box next to Save Settings (optional)
    4. Click OK
  10. Your document should now get sent to the printer for release.
