Access Desktop Streaming

The previous Desktop Streaming software, VMWare Horizon, will be made inaccessible August 12, 2022. The below information is regarding its replacement.

Desktop Streaming is a service provided by the G. Brint Ryan College of Business to allow access to a virtual computing environment, including software, desktop, and documents, that can be accessed from anywhere you have internet access.

This is a new service, and any feedback or recommendations are welcome.

Gaining Access to Desktop Streaming

Most Desktop Streaming applications are available to students & faculty for instruction use only, without requiring the need for an access request. Specific requests are only needed for certain applications, like ArcGIS.

For other uses outside of instruction (e.g. academic research), please email us to find an alternate solution.

Connecting to Desktop Streaming

Please ensure you follow each step in order access Desktop Streaming.

  1. Duo Authentication

    UNT will soon be requiring Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) via Duo. Desktop Streaming is one of the first services requiring it. Before attempting to login to Desktop Streaming, you must already have Duo enabled on your account. Navigate to the UNT Duo page to set it up for your account.

  2. Citrix Workspace

    Citrix Workspace is the application that brings the streamed apps to you. Navigate to the MyLab.unt.edu page to learn how to access Citrix.
