SAS

SAS (Statistical Analysis System) is a software suite developed by SAS Institute for advanced analytics, multivariate analysis, business intelligence, data management, and predictive analytics.

For in-depth information on the usage of SAS, see the UNT Research and Statistical Support article. For in-depth information on the CAS installation of SAS, see the CAS-ITS article.

Installation

To install on:

  • CAS ITS-supported Dell PCs: Install via Software Center
    • Note: SAS will show up in the Start Menu before it fully downloads/installs via Software Center. If you run it before it's fully downloaded, you may experience errors with some features. In testing, we saw some errors as we poked around in SAS, but these errors went away once the application finished downloading.
  • Faculty and Staff personal laptop or home computer: visit License Portal to request access.

Off-Campus Use

When using SAS on a CAS-supported computer or laptop (either Dell PC or Apple Mac) from off-campus or on the UNT wireless network, the computer using SAS must connect to the UNT VPN prior to opening SAS for use. For users who need SAS to work without connecting to the campus network, follow the directions above for requesting SAS for a faculty/staff personal laptop or home computer.
