Wolfram Mathematica

Almost any workflow involves computing results, and that's what Mathematica does--from building a hedge-fund trading website or publishing interactive engineering textbooks, to developing embedded image-recognition algorithms or teaching calculus.

According to Wolfram, the software's manufacturer, Mathematica is "renowned as the world's ultimate application for computations. But it's much more--it's the only development platform fully integrating computation into complete workflows, moving you seamlessly from initial ideas all the way to deployed individual or enterprise solutions."

For in-depth information on the usage of Mathematica, see the UNT Research and Statistical Support (RSS) article, or check out these community questions/discussions:

Installation

To install on:

Mathematica Online

UNT has added Mathematica Online, which is a cloud-based offering of Mathematica. Just like Mathematica installers for personal devices, Mathematica Online is accessed using individual Wolfram accounts created by end-users. Make sure you create your Wolfram ID using your UNT email address.

You may then request access to Mathematica Online. Once the request is approved, you may access Mathematica Online through the Wolfram Cloud:

Licensing

The University of North Texas System has entered into a site license with Wolfram for the Mathematica software on behalf of the Denton and Dallas campuses of the UNT System. The UNT Health Science Center opted to be excluded from this license agreement.

Under this agreement, Mathematica is available on both the Denton and Dallas campuses for unlimited installation on University-owned machines used for research and instruction. A home-use option is available at no cost for faculty and students at the Denton and Dallas campuses.
