MapInfo allows users to visualize the relationships between data and geography, so business analysts, planners, GIS professionals--even non-GIS users--can gain new insights into their markets, improve strategic decision-making and share information-rich maps and graphs.

Installation

MapInfo v15.2 is currently available to CAS faculty and staff via Software Center, as well as to students in the GEOG CSAM Labs and the CAS Student Computer Labs.

To install on:

• CAS ITS-supported Dell PCs: Install via Software Center

Licensing

CAS provides licensing to MapInfo Professional software via the CAS licensing server. Use of MapInfo must be metered, so when off-campus or on the wireless network, the computer using MapInfo must connect to the UNT VPN prior to opening MapInfo.
