GarageBand

GarageBand is a software application for OS X and iOS that allows users to create music or podcasts. Its music and podcast creation system enables users to create multiple tracks with pre-made MIDI keyboards, pre-made loops, an array of various instrumental effects, and voice recordings. GarageBand can support any sound format except MP3 and those that are at 8-bits or lower.

As of 2013, GarageBand comes free with any Apple device running OS X or iOS. Updates are available for existing installs via the App Store.
