Cisco AnyConnect | Computing for Arts + Sciences

Cisco AnyConnect

Cisco AnyConnect is VPN (virtual private network) software allowing a remote computer to create a secure (i.e. encrypted) connection to UNT's network and receive an internet (IP) address as if the computer was located on campus. This is helpful (and sometimes necessary) when connecting to certain UNT resources or running certain software on UNT-owned laptop computers.

Installation

To install on:

  • Faculty and Staff personal laptops and home computers:

Connecting to the campus VPN is done in two simple steps:

  1. Login to the Campus VPN web portal using your EUID and password to login.
  2. Start AnyConnect
  • Student-owned laptops and home computers:
  1. Login to the Campus VPN web portal using your EUID and password to login.
  2. Start AnyConnect

If you need assistance starting AnyConnect, ITSS has provided a document with details. As always, you can contact us for assistance.

Additional Information:

Mac Users

macOS has a built-in VPN client, so no additional software is required to connect to the UNT network. The College of Hospitality and Public Service has an excellent tutorial on how to create a VPN connection on MacOS.
