Check Outlook with Other Email Applications

We recommend and support accessing your Outlook email at UNT with the following services:

  • Outlook 2013 or newer for Windows
  • Outlook 2011 for MacOS
  • Office 365 via your favorite web browser
    • Webmail (a.k.a. Outlook Web Access or OWA) works with any web browser; however, it functions best in Internet Explorer 6.0 and above.

UNT allows access to the Outlook mail system from other mail clients, if enabled. If you are a CAS supported faculty or staff, please send us an email at if you intend to use this functionality so we can enable it on your account. All other faculty and staff should direct the request to their repective IT support group and students should email

Incoming Settings:

  • Incoming IMAP Server:
  • User Name: Your email address (
  • Security: SSL: STARTTLS. Port: 143.
  • Password: Your EUID password

Outgoing Settings:

  • Outgoing SMTP Server:
  • Username: Your email address (
  • Security: SSL: STARTTLS. Port: 587
  • Password: Your EUID password

Additional Information

The above settings were tested on Ubuntu 14.04 and Mozilla Thunderbird 31.2.0.
