UNT's license for Microsoft Exchange (aka: Outlook, WebMail) covers current faculty and staff (regardless of Full Time Equivalency or FTE). This means that when you leave UNT, you're no longer covered for use of your Exchange account (ie: name@unt.edu).

Here are your options, respective to the terms of your leaving:

Retirees

UNT Policy 14.003 states that "Retirees, visiting scholars, vendors and other external users may obtain access to Information Resources based on their role."

Retirees can request a new non-employee UNT email address, but because of licensing restrictions they can no longer use Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc). Academic Technologies needs to know of any retirees in order to make this change and to also ensure access to their new email address.

Emeritus faculty may retain their University email account upon retirement.

For assistance with this process, please feel free to contact us.

Alumni

UNT Policy 14.003 does not guarentee alumni General Access and Campus Network Access. EagleConnect currently states that alumni will keep their student account.

If you have a published alias that is on your @unt.edu account and you need it redirected to your @my.unt.edu account, please feel free to contact us.

Former Employees

UNT Policy 14.003 does not permit former employees to use UNT computer systems or information resources, regardless of the circumstances behind the separation.
