Dubna-Boblovo/dubna-boblovo030Previous | Home | NextIn this view Boblovo is identified by the top red arrow. The area south of Boblovo holds the reserve of Alexander Blok, the famous poet, who married Mendeleev's daughter Lyuba Dmitrievna Mendeleeva. This estate centers about Tarakanovo (central red arrow) and Shakhmatovo (bottom red arrow). The region has numerous museums, chapels, other houses, and lakes historically associated with Blok. From Tarakanovo "one can clearly see the hill, where was Boblovo - D.I. Mendeleyev estate." At the present time (2008) there exist several proposals by independent agencies to develop this area, perhaps as one large reserve. Map adopted from Hamilton Global Management, "Atlas of Russia -- All Oblasts, Krays, and Republics"; portion of Moscow Oblast. Red scale and arrows added. |
