Anton Eduard van Arkel

| He was a Dutch chemist at Eindhoven, later Professor of chemistry at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands. With de Boer at Philips Laboratory in Eindhoven, he developed a method of preparing pure metals using the iodide or crystal bar process; first prepared metallic hafnium in 1925. | ||
