Paul-Louis-Toussaint Héroult
1863-1914
He was a French metallurgist who designed and invented various electric furnaces used in metallurgy. He discovered a cheap process for producing aluminum in a manner analogous to Charles Hall, but lost credit as Hall had already applied for the patent. He was Director of the Société Electrométallurgique Français at Forges, France. | ||
