Albert Ghiorso

1915-2010

 

  He is the codiscoverer of elements 96-106 at the University of California, Berkeley. Working with Seaborg, Ghiorso developed the techniques for isolating and proving the existence of short-lived species produced by the cyclotron. Ghiorso holds the record for the most elements discovered (over 10).
