André Louis Debierne
1874-1949
He was a French chemist, and assistant to Mme. Curie at the University of Paris. He discovered actinium as a trace component in pitchblende. With Mme. Curie he isolated pure radium in 1910. He succeeded Madame Curie as director of the Curie Institute in Paris. | ||
