Neils Henrik David Bohr
1885-1962
He was a professor of theoretical physics at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. He had worked with Ernest Rutherford at the University of Manchester, England. Bohr adopted Planck's quantum theory to Rutherford's model for atomic structure; thereby he defined the structure of the atom by describing the quantized states of the electrons, and how this structure gave rise to the Periodic Table of the Elements. | ||
