This is the Ratsapotheke on Kornmarkt, the original apothecary where Klaproth received his original training. Although he spent five years here, he is recorded as complaining that the training was not as good as desired. Klaproth went on to study in the Hofapotheke of Hannover 1765-1767; then at the Apotheke zum Engel at Mohrenstraße in Berlin in 1768; then 1769-1770 at the Ratsapotheke in Danzig; before returning to Berlin to the Apotheke zum weißen Schan in 1771. During the training period of an apothecary, one would typically serve as an apprentice and then as a journeyman for a period of many years.
