"Ancien Collège Royal Ouvert des le Moyen Age a l’Enseignment Médical et Siège de l’Université de Médecine de 1498 a 1792" ("Ancient Royal College opened in the Middle Ages for the instruction of medicine and the seat of the University of Medicine from 1498 to 1792.") At this medical school, Nostradamus (1503-1566) studied in 1529. The School of Pharmacy was established in 1803 by a decree of Napoleon, and property for its use was taken from the University of Medicine. Much construction has occurred since 1807, with demolition of the old hall and construction of new buildings and laboratories, with particular expansive growth during the period 1831-1883.
