At this medical school, Nostradamus (1503-1566) studied in 1529. The School of Pharmacy was established in 1803 by a decree of Napoleon, and property for its use was taken from the University of Medicine. Much construction has occurred since 1807, with demolition of the old hall and construction of new buildings and laboratories, with particular expansive growth during the period 1831-1883.
