This is the laboratory where Priestley not only discovered oxygen, but also ammonia ("alkaline air," NH3), sulphur dioxide ("vitriolic air," SO2), nitrous oxide ("diminished nitrous oxide," N2O), nitrogen dioxide ("nitrous acid vapor," NO), and silicon tetrafluoride ("fluor acid air," SiF4).
