Postcard showing the old Church courtyard ("Kirchenplatz") of Jáchymov. The view is westward. (See the next photo for a key.) The St. Joachim church is to the lower right, and behind it the Svornost Mine. The City Hall is to the lower left, and directly behind it the mint. The buildings running north-south, on the west side of the quadrangle between the church and the City Hall/mint, are municipal buildings of Jáchymov. In the upper left is the Schlik castle. The caption at the upper left, "Skt. Joachimstal/Erzgeb./Seehöhe/750 m" tells us that St. Joachimsthal of the Erzgebirge range is 750 meters above see level. The caption at the upper right, "Kirchenplatz," translates as "Church courtyard."
