In the suburb of Berlin-Charlottenburg, rhenium was discovered (and a claim for masurium = technetium) at the Chemigebäude (Chemistry Building), Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, Abbestraße 2-12 - N52 30.98 E13 19.26. The institute was originally founded as the Physilakisch-Technische Reichsanstalt in 1887; its modern name was adopted in 1945.
