Previous | Home | NextThe Barancha River joins the Tagil River near the Medvel-Kamyen ("Bear Stone" N58 01.20 E59 52.84), a formation on the Tagil River (Reka Tagil) 15 km north of Nizhniy Tagil. As Ermak progressed down the Barancha and then onto the Tagil, he signaled the colonization of Siberia. He passed by this area 1580-1581 and his inscription is found on a rock at Bear Stone.
