This is a 1790 pen drawing of the Convent of Recollets. A penciled caption reads "Vue de Couvent de Récollets a côte du Jardin," ("View of the Convent of Recollets from the side of the garden"); presumably the view is from the present-day Rue des Jardins. The Récollets are monks of a special suborder of Saint Francis, originating in Spain in the 15th century, spreading to France to the 16th century.
