On August 15, 2014, UNT replaced on-line meeting/training with one, more broadly-useful solution. GoToMeeting (GTM) and GoToTraining (GTT) are a web-hosted service for:

  • online meetings
  • desktop sharing
  • video conferencing

and enables the user to meet with other computer users, customers, clients or colleagues via the Internet in real time. GoToMeeting is available for both faculty and staff to use for teaching, research, or general business needs, outreach, etc. UNT (CLEAR) also has organizer accounts on a GoToMeeting Essentials license, which is a more basic version of the software and is available for student projects.

Although no account is needed to join or participate in a meeting on GTM or GTT, faculty and staff must request organizer accounts in order to schedule and host meetings and training sessions by submitting a request using this form. CLEAR states that accounts will be created within two business days of the request.

Installation

To install on:

  • Faculty and Staff personal Windows laptop and home computer: download and install software from Citrix Online Support.
  • Apple Macs: For Apple OSX systems, GoToMeeting runs through a browser plugin that does not require Administrative rights to install.  The process is similar for the following browsers: SafariFirefoxChrome

For Safari users:

  1. Launch GoToMeeting by hosting or joining a session.
  2. A file called “Citrix Online Launcher” will start downloading to your computer. Double-click the file in your browser’s Downloads window to open it. You can click restart the downloadif needed.
  3. If the file doesn't open automatically, double-click the Citrix Online Launcher file in your Downloads folder in Finder.
  4. When prompted to open “Citrix Online Launcher,” click Open.
  5. When prompted to open GoToMeeting, click Open.
  6. Once you’re done, you’ll be able to host and join future GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar and GoToTraining sessions faster than ever!

For Firefox users:

  1. Launch GoToMeeting by hosting or joining a session.
  2. A file called “Citrix Online Launcher.zip” will start downloading to your computer. If prompted to save the Citrix Online Launcher.zip file, click Save File.
  3. Double-click the zip file in your browser’s Downloads window to open it. You can clickrestart the download if needed.
  4. In the Downloads window, double-click the Citrix Online Launcher application.
  5. When your Downloads folder opens in Finder, double-click the Citrix Online Launcher application.
  6. When prompted to open “Citrix Online Launcher”, click Open.
  7. When prompted to open GoToMeeting, click Open.
  8. Once you’re done, you’ll be able to host and join future GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar and GoToTraining sessions faster than ever!
  9.  

For Chrome users:

  1. Launch GoToMeeting by hosting or joining a session.
