Cropping your images to fit size requirements in Drupal

If you need to resize 4+ images, or have a complex editing job, please send an email to CAS-WebArchitecture@unt.edu with your attached images. In the email, please specify which feature you will be using the images for (faculty photo, slideshow, etcetera). Knowing the function that the image serves will help CAS ITS ensure the size is correct.

Google Platform
If you're looking free image editing software, we recommend Google's Picasa platform.

  • If you have a Google account, you can log into Picasa at http://picasa.google.com.
  • After uploading images from your harddrive, click on the individual image you wish to edit.
  • In the toolbar above your image, click the Edit Image icon .
  • You will be presented with a variety of options that include cropping (where you can enter the dimensions of your photo in the left sidebar) and rotating.

Mac Preview
If you have a Mac computer, you can also crop and rotate images in Preview. Unfortunately you cannot insert the correct dimensions; therefore, you have to select the correct proportions with the selection marquee.
