One-time Reservations

CAS IT Services' computer labs can be a great way to handle individual lessons that require additional technology. We encourage instructors to submit their requests as early as possible. Reservations are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on availability.

When to Request Reservations

All one-time reservation requests need to be submitted by noon on Friday of the week prior to the date the reservation is needed. Reservation requests should be submitted using our online reservation request form to ensure requests are received, processed, and responded to in a timely manner.

Reservation Costs

For departments which are part of our three supporting colleges, there is typically no cost to reserve class time in one of our computer labs, with a few exceptions:

  • if special software must be purchased and installed to meet the needs of the class
  • if the reservation increases the labs' operational costs for the semester
  • if we did not collect an academic fee for the class in question

CAS IT Services operates five general-access Student Computer Labs funded through the UNT Technology Use Fee:

  • Discovery Park B205
  • GAB 330
  • GAB 550/550A
  • Terrill Hall 220
  • Wooten Hall 120

We also operate an Instructional Computing Lab (ICL) in Gateway 141, which is funded through academic fees collected from our three supporting colleges:

  • College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and Mayborn School of Journalism
  • College of Science
  • College of Information

Because the ICL is funded through academic fees, departments or other UNT units outside of those three colleges may be required to pay an equivalent usage fee to be able to reserve time in the ICL.
