Hours and Schedule:
Lab Assistants work a flexible schedule of 15 - 25 hours per week between 8am and midnight during semesters, with additional hours available for volunteers as needed between semesters.

Lab assistants have the opportunity to progress through a management-oriented career development track, a technology-oriented career development track, or both!
Management-track employees may have the opportunity to become shift leaders, learning valuable management skills and helping with hiring, training, mentoring, and developing new lab assistants.
Technical-track employees may have the opportunity to become student computer technicians with either the CAS Student Computer Labs (SCL), College Lab Services (COLAS), or CAS IT Services HelpDesk.
Experience:
At least 1 year prior work experience in either technical/computer support or customer service
A superior working knowledge of either the Windows or Mac operating system
Experience using MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
Communication Ability:
Lab Assistants must be able to communicate in English clearly on the phone as well as in person. Strong writing skills are also preferred.
Education:
Only currently-enrolled UNT students are eligible for hire as a lab assistant.
Physical Ability:
Manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and mouse
Physical strength to lift 50 lbs from floor to waist-height and push a heavily-loaded cart across campus
