Student Communication Specialist (Email/social/web Content Maker)

This is an entry-level position that writes, edits, and disseminates information in support of Computing for Arts + Sciences (CAS) efforts. Under direct supervision by the CoS Senior Assistant Dean for CAS IT, you will: Create, document, and maintain effective communication processes and related content to enable CI, CLASS, CoS, and Mayborn faculty/staff to effectively use the technologies and services we provide.

In this job you will:

  • Interview general and specialized technologists (subject matter experts) to create written publications for consumption by UNT faculty/staff.
  • Align content with audience and CAS' needs.
  • Assess how well our communication channels work and respective efficacy.
  • Work productively without constant supervision.
  • Unless meeting with subject matter experts, work mostly remotely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

At least one year of prior work experience in technical service area. Ability to edit web sites using Drupal. Ability to learn and understand usage data.
Communication Ability: 
This position must effectively communicate with technology professionals and a broad audience of varying levels and disciplines to create and revise original, written content.
Currently-enrolled UNT student.
Physical Ability: 
Manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.
