The Office 2016 Multi-Language Pack includes Proofing Tools and other support for other languages. There are two main steps to getting your additional language.
If you want the Language Pack for Office 2016 on a computer that you manage, such as a personally owned computer, refer to the Language Accessory Pack for Office 2016 article.
Step 1: In?stall the Office Multi-Language Pack from Software Center
The Microsoft Office 2016 Multi-Language Pack is available to your CAS ITS managed computer via Software Center. After clicking Install in Software Center, you will be prompted to select a Microsoft Product.
There are three products supported by this Pack:
- Microsoft Office 2016
- Applies To: Excel 2016, Word 2016, Outlook 2016, PowerPoint 2016, OneNote 2016, Publisher 2016, Access 2016, and more ...
- Microsoft Project 2016
- Microsoft Visio 2016
From the list, select the one product that you want to install with the corresponding language. For example, if I want to install Spanish for Microsoft Word 2016, you would select:
- Microsoft Office Language Pack 2016 - Spanish/Espa?ol
Click Continue after you selected your one product with the desired language from the list.
If you agree the terms of the agreement, check the box and then click Continue again.
Click Install Now to begin the install.
In our testing, the install process only takes a few minutes; time may vary depending on the language selected, speed of your network connection, and speed of your computer. After the installation is complete, you will see a "successfully installed" message, as shown:
Click Close to exit the installer.
If you have additional products and/or languages you want to install, you can re-run the install (click Reinstall) via Software Center. Complete the installation of the new language or product using the steps above.
Step 2: Configure Office language
After you install the language accessory pack, you must configure Office for your new language preferences.- Click the Start Menu.
- Type "Office Lang", in the Search programs and files field.
- Click the Office 2016 Language Preferences program that shows up.
- Under Choose Editing Languages, make sure that the language you want to use is added to this list.
- If the language accessory pack includes proofing tools for that language, the Proofing column shows Installed.
- Under Choose Display and Help languages, you can change the default display and help languages for all your Office applications.
- If the language accessory pack contained display and help for the language, you should see it listed here.
- Restart all Office programs for your changes to take effect.
